What Is Dragon Age: The Veilguard?<\/h2>\n

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the fourth game in the series, following Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age II, and Dragon Age Inquisition. It\u2019s been 10 years since the previous game, so fans have been waiting awhile for this installment. Like the previous games, it\u2019s set in the fantasy world of Thedas, where you\u2019ll create a character and lead a team of heroes against evil forces.<\/p>\n

The Veilguard is noticeably more colorful than previous entries, which leaned toward the brown and gray end of the spectrum. Characters have a stylized, almost cartoonish, look to them \u2014 a change that\u2019s been somewhat controversial among the fan base. However, combat has gotten an overhaul<\/a>, to the extent that the developers say it\u2019s \u201cactually fun\u201d now. You control a party of three (instead of four, like in previous games), and the combat is much more action-oriented.<\/p>\n

In case you\u2019re worried about a lack of story, you can allay your fears: the script for Dragon Age: The Veilguard has roughly 140,000 lines of dialogue<\/a>. That\u2019s quite a bit more than Dragon Age Inquisition\u2019s already-considerable 88,000 lines \u2014 though not as many as Baldur\u2019s Gate 3 or Starfield.<\/p>\n

There will be plenty of customization options, including various difficulty settings<\/a>, as well as the ability to turn off death entirely. Veilguard will also let you romance any of the party members, and it features full nudity<\/a>, if that\u2019s of interest. Of note for Steam players, you won\u2019t need the EA app<\/a> as a launcher to play the game, which is always nice.
