Rebellion’s post-apocalyptic survival game with a British twist, Atomfall<\/u><\/a>, is getting its own TV adaptation.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the real-world Windscale disaster in 1957<\/a>, which remains the worst nuclear accident in British history, Atomfall takes place after a fictional nuclear disaster left an area of UK in tatters. The survival-action game sees you explore, scavenge, craft, barter, and fight your way through “beautifully recreated scenery in search of answers.” It recently secured Best British Game at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Co-produced by both Rebellion and British production house Two Brothers \u2014 the Emmy and Golden Globe winning production team behind hits like Fleabag<\/u><\/a> and The Missing<\/u><\/a> \u2014 the new series describes the game as a “distinctly British take on the post-apocalyptic genre,” and will be set within a militarized Quarantine Zone in the Lake District. While life continues as normal beyond the walls, life inside the zone has “deteriorated into something far stranger.”<\/p>\n

The show will be written by Harry and Jack Williams, and executive produced by the pair and Alex Mercer for Two Brothers, plus Jason and Chris Kingsley CBE and Ben Smith for Rebellion. There’s no word on a release schedule yet, nor where the show will be broadcast\/streamed, but we’ll keep you posted. <\/p>\n

Atomfall returned a ‘Great’ 8\/10. In IGN’s Atomfall review<\/u><\/a>, we wrote: “Atomfall is a compelling, post-apocalyptic survival story that satisfyingly bends to your choices and discoveries no matter which direction you take.”<\/p>\n
