Unfortunately, however, its release has confirmed exactly what this new version of the game entails \u2014 and it&#8217;s not the remake or remaster that some fans had expected.<\/p>\n<p>On Xbox at least, you can now pay <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xbox.com\/en-us\/games\/store\/tom-clancys-the-division-definitive-edition\/9pgffb0wzpkh\">$49.99<\/a> to own Ubisoft&#8217;s 2016 extraction shooter and all of its add-on content, including the game&#8217;s three expansions, season pass, and various DLC outfits. <\/p>\n<p>There does not appear to be any new content here \u2014 or any new versions of existing content, either. This has come as something of a surprise to fans who had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/it-looks-like-the-division-definitive-edition-is-on-the-way-10-years-after-its-initial-release\">spotted advertising for the game&#8217;s Definitive Edition pop up last month<\/a> alongside new merchandise, just in time for the game&#8217;s 10th anniversary.<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"ignvideo\" data-slug=\"the-division-13-minutes-of-resistance-horde-mode-gameplay\" data-loop=\"\"><\/section>\n<p>Instead, for your money you&#8217;ll get access to the following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/games\/tom-clancys-the-division\">Tom Clancy&#8217;s The Division<\/a> items:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tom Clancy\u2019s The Division<\/li>\n<li>Season Pass<\/li>\n<li>Season Pass Exclusive Outfits<\/li>\n<li>Expansion I: Underground<\/li>\n<li>Expansion II: Survival<\/li>\n<li>Expansion III: Last Stand<\/li>\n<li>Sawed-off Shotgun<\/li>\n<li>Frontline Outfit Pack<\/li>\n<li>Let it Snow Pack<\/li>\n<li>Military Specialists Outfits Pack<\/li>\n<li>Parade Pack<\/li>\n<li>Sports Fan Outfit Pack<\/li>\n<li>Streets of New York Outfit Bundle<\/li>\n<li>Marine Forces Outfits Pack<\/li>\n<li>Upper East Side Outfit Pack<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;Get the complete The Division experience in this Definitive Edition!&#8221; Ubisoft&#8217;s blurb reads. &#8220;The base game, all three Season Pass expansions, and multiple cosmetic packs await you.\u202fRestore order and rebuild New York City after a devastating pandemic in this tactical open world third-person shooter.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Definitive Edition also includes gear sets, weapon skins, and customization options, everything you need to stand out as an elite agent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"slideshow\" data-slug=\"the-divisions-advertising\" data-value=\"the-divisions-advertising\" data-type=\"slug\" data-caption=\"\"><\/section>\n<p>Two years on from its announcement, Ubisoft is still working on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/games\/tom-clancys-the-division-3\"><u>The Division 3<\/u><\/a>. And while it has yet to show off the game or provide us with a release date, its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/a-week-after-saying-the-division-3-was-shaping-up-to-be-a-monster-franchise-boss-julian-gerighty-leaves-ubisoft-for-battlefield-developer-dice\">now-departed chief developer Julian Gerighty<\/a> has said he believes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/the-division-3-will-have-as-big-an-impact-as-the-division-1-ubisoft-dev-says\"><u>it will have as big an impact<\/u><\/a> as The Division 1 did back in the day. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So, The Division 3 is in production, right? This is not a secret. It&#8217;s been announced. It&#8217;s shaping up to be a monster,&#8221; Gerighty said. &#8220;I can&#8217;t really say anything more than that. But this is, within these walls in Massive, we are working extremely hard on something that I think will be as big an impact as Division 1 was.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Ubisoft <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/ubisoft-cancels-6-projects-including-prince-of-persia-sands-of-time-remake-closes-2-studios-and-confirms-further-layoffs-in-major-company-restructure\">announced the cancelation of six games, the closure of two studios and further job losses at another three locations<\/a>, and a cost-reduction initiative aimed at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/ubisoft-follows-last-weeks-game-cancelations-and-studio-closures-with-a-proposed-reduction-of-200-more-jobs-at-its-paris-headquarters\">eliminating 200 positions at its Paris headquarters<\/a>.
