{"id":10752,"date":"2025-09-12T11:21:32","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T11:21:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nextlevelnews.co.uk\/blog\/2025\/09\/12\/hollow-knight-silksongs-first-major-patch-the-one-that-makes-the-early-game-easier-is-rolling-out-now-for-most-players\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T11:21:32","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T11:21:32","slug":"hollow-knight-silksongs-first-major-patch-the-one-that-makes-the-early-game-easier-is-rolling-out-now-for-most-players","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nextlevelnews.co.uk\/blog\/2025\/09\/12\/hollow-knight-silksongs-first-major-patch-the-one-that-makes-the-early-game-easier-is-rolling-out-now-for-most-players\/","title":{"rendered":"Hollow Knight Silksong&#8217;s First Major Patch \u2014 the One That Makes the Early Game Easier \u2014 Is Rolling Out Now for Most Players"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"article-page\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets-prd.ignimgs.com\/2025\/09\/12\/ss-1757675966561.jpg\" \/>\n<section data-transform=\"mobile-ad-break\"><\/section>\n<p>Hollow Knight Silksong\u2019s first major patch is rolling out now to most players, developer Team Cherry has confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Silksong update 1.0.28497 \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/hollow-knight-silksong-developer-team-cherry-reveals-first-post-launch-patch-notes-makes-slight-balance-adjustments-in-the-early-game\">the one that makes the early game easier<\/a> \u2014 is now live on PC via Steam and GOG, and is due out on Xbox and Switch platforms \u201cvery soon.\u201d There\u2019s a bit of a holdup on PlayStation, however, where Team Cherry expects the same patch within 48 hours \u201cbarring unforeseen circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Team Cherry published the patch notes, below, in full on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamcherry.com.au\/blog\/silksong-patch-1\">its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"ignvideo\" data-slug=\"hollow-knight-silksong-how-to-install-pc-mods-and-cheats\" data-loop=\"\"><\/section>\n<h2>Hollow Knight Silksong update 1.0.28497 patch notes:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Fixed situation where players could remain cloakless after Slab escape sequence.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed wish Infestation Operation often not being completable during the late game.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed wish Beast in the Bells not being completable when Bell Beast is summoned at the Bilewater Bellway during the late game.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed getting stuck floating after down-bouncing on certain projectiles.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed courier deliveries sometimes being inaccessible in the late game.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed craft bind behaving incorrectly when in memories.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed Lace tool deflect soft-lock at start of battle in Deep Docks.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed Claw Mirrors leaving Hornet inverted if taking damage during a specific moment while binding.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed Snitch Pick not giving rosaries and shell shards as intended.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed Swamp Squits becoming invincible if hit under water.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed instance where Lugoli could leave the arena and not return.<\/li>\n<li>Reduced chance of Silk Snippers in Chapel of the Reaper sometimes getting stuck out of bounds.<\/li>\n<li>Removed float override input (down + jump, after player has Faydown Cloak).<\/li>\n<li>Slight difficulty reduction in early game bosses Moorwing and Sister Splinter.<\/li>\n<li>Reduction in damage from Sandcarvers.<\/li>\n<li>Slight increase in pea pod collider scale.<\/li>\n<li>Slight reduction in mid-game Bellway and Bell Bench prices.<\/li>\n<li>Slight increase in rosary rewards from relics and psalm cylinders.<\/li>\n<li>Increase in rosary rewards for courier deliveries.<\/li>\n<li>Various additional fixes and tweaks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All fixes will apply retroactively, so players who&#8217;ve hit a significant bug that prevents progress should now be able to proceed, Team Cherry added. Further fixes are currently being worked on for a second patch.<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"slideshow\" data-slug=\"hollow-knight-silksong-release-trailer-screenshots\" data-value=\"hollow-knight-silksong-release-trailer-screenshots\" data-type=\"slug\" data-caption=\"\"><\/section>\n<p>The patch will be welcome news to those who are struggling with the game. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/games\/hollow-knight-silksong\"><u>Silksong<\/u><\/a> is one of the biggest launches of the year, hitting huge player concurrent numbers on Steam alongside a positive reception from critics. But amid the excitement over Team Cherry\u2019s long awaited sequel is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/criticism-isnt-hate-hollow-knight-silksong-sparks-debate-about-difficulty-runbacks-and-the-dreaded-git-gud-comments\"><u>a debate within the community about whether the game is too hard \u2014 perhaps even unfairly so<\/u><\/a>. It comes as no surprise to see Silksong\u2019s early days mods dominated by those which make the game easier.<\/p>\n<p>IGN has already reported on how some Silksong players were expressing criticism across social media, subreddits, Discords, and Steam reviews about the game\u2019s difficulty scaling and brutal runbacks. There\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/an-early-unassuming-miniboss-is-wrecking-hollow-knight-silksong-players\"><u>one very early miniboss causing a lot of players a whole heap of trouble, too<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs it just me, or are some of the things that make Silksong \u2018difficult\u2019 just cruel?\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/HollowKnight\/comments\/1n9o79b\/is_it_just_me_or_are_some_of_the_things_that_make\/\"><u>wondered redditor Machi-Ato<\/u><\/a>. \u201cThe game has artificially inflated difficulty and playtime due to overtuned numbers and menial tasks\/runback,\u201d reads a post on <a href=\"https:\/\/steamcommunity.com\/app\/1030300\/discussions\/0\/595159120097849349\/\"><u>Steam<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Playing Silksong?
