{"id":10704,"date":"2025-09-08T10:55:48","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T10:55:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nextlevelnews.co.uk\/blog\/2025\/09\/08\/machinegames-teases-were-not-done-with-wolfenstein-yet\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T10:55:48","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T10:55:48","slug":"machinegames-teases-were-not-done-with-wolfenstein-yet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nextlevelnews.co.uk\/blog\/2025\/09\/08\/machinegames-teases-were-not-done-with-wolfenstein-yet\/","title":{"rendered":"MachineGames Teases &#8216;We&#8217;re Not Done With Wolfenstein Yet&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"article-page\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets-prd.ignimgs.com\/2025\/09\/08\/51xciyfzlml-ac-sl1500-1757328944329.jpg\" \/>\n<section data-transform=\"mobile-ad-break\"><\/section>\n<p>MachineGames seemingly hasn&#8217;t finished with its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/games\/franchise\/wolfenstein\"><u>Wolfenstein<\/u><\/a> series just yet.<\/p>\n<p>While it&#8217;s been over half a decade since we last punched a Nazi in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/games\/wolfenstein-youngblood\"><u>Wolfenstein: Youngblood<\/u><\/a>, studio head Jerk Gustafsson has hinted the team would very much like to go back to the Wolfenstein universe to tie up BJ Blazkowicz&#8217;s story.<\/p>\n<p>While both Youngblood and the 2019 VR title Cyberpilot touched on the wider Blazkowicz family&#8217;s fortunes, we haven&#8217;t actually played as series stalwart Blazkowicz since 2017&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/games\/wolfenstein-2-the-new-colossus\"><u>The New Colossus<\/u><\/a>. And it&#8217;s BJ&#8217;s story that seems to intrigue Gustafsson most \u2014 in fact, it seems Blazkowicz&#8217;s story was <em>always<\/em> meant to be told in three parts.<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"ignvideo\" data-slug=\"the-most-batsht-crazy-moments-in-the-wolfenstein-series\" data-loop=\"\"><\/section>\n<p>In a new interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=E189QG28rnE\"><u>Noclip<\/u><\/a>, Gustafsson said the team had &#8220;always seen [BJ&#8217;s story] as a trilogy,&#8221; adding: &#8220;That journey for BJ, even during those first weeks at [id Software], when we mapped out New Order \u2014 we still had the plan for at least [BJ], what would happen in the second one and what would happen in the third one.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think that&#8217;s important to say, because\u2060 \u2014 at least, I hope \u2060\u2014 we&#8217;re not done with Wolfenstein yet. We have a story to tell,&#8221; he added (thanks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/fps\/after-indiana-jones-it-sounds-like-machinegames-is-ready-to-make-another-wolfenstein-game-we-have-always-seen-this-as-a-trilogy\/\"><u>PC Gamer<\/u><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The last Wolfenstein game was 2019&#8217;s Wolftenstein: Youngblood, Set in 1980, 19 years after BJ Blazkowicz ignited the second American Revolution, it introduced the next Blazkowicz generation to the fight against the Nazis. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/2019\/07\/25\/wolfenstein-youngblood-review\"><u>In IGN&#8217;s review, we awarded it a middling 6.5<\/u><\/a>, calling it &#8220;aggressively okay.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>MachineGames&#8217; latest offering, however, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/games\/indiana-jones-and-the-great-circle\"><u>Indiana Jones and the Great Circle<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/indiana-jones-and-the-great-circle-review\"><u>which secured 9\/10<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"divider\"><\/section>\n<p><em>Vikki Blake is a reporter for IGN, as well as a critic, columnist, and consultant with 15+ years experience working with some of the world&#8217;s biggest gaming sites and publications.
